    DIY Honey Almond Sugar Scrub Bars

    Today I am sharing a simple tutorial for these DIY honey almond sugar scrub bars, they are easy and fun to make. Make some for yourself, but these are perfect for holiday gift giving too!

    ​A classic homemade sugar scrub bar held together with melt and pour soap base and that is a gentle exfoliator for healthier skin and to help make skin feel soft. These are made with simple natural ingredients and they contain no dyes and they are perfect for all skin types including sensitive skin.

    Perfect for exfoliating winter dry skin, these solid sugar scrub bars are made using sugar and sweet almond oil, with powdered honey to help sweeten the scent. 

    For best results for smooth skin, use warm water with these sugar scrub bars on wet skin, and use in a circular motion for gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells for smoother, softer moisturized winter skin!

    SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THE DIY HONEY ALMOND SUGAR SCRUB BARS:

    This simple recipe makes 15 bars if you use the same silicone mold that I used. You might want to double or triple the recipe as it makes for a lovely gift idea anytime of the year! Hint hint....Mother's Day is coming up soon! 😉

    supplies needed for making diy honey almond sugar scrub bars including: silicone mold, sugar, sweet almond oil, powdered honey, goat milk melt and pour soap base and 4 cup measuring cup and wood craft stick

     

    Supplies List:

    • 1 cup sugar
    • ¼ cup sweet almond oil 
    • 4 - 1x1 inch cubes goats milk melt and pour soap base 
    • 1 teaspoon powdered honey 
    • 4 cup microwave safe spouted measuring cup
    • Wooden craft stick for stirring (or spoon)
    • 1 - Silicone cylinder mold​

    HOW TO MAKE DIY HONEY ALMOND SUGAR SCRUB BARS:

    ​Directions:

    ​Step 1:

    • Add the cubes of soap base to the measuring cup, and heat on high in the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove and stir. If not fully melted, heat for an additional 15 seconds.

    Step 2:

    • Add the sweet almond oil, sugar, and powdered honey, and stir. The mixture may be a bit solid, so heat it again for 20-30 seconds, then stir again.

    Step 3:

    • ​Pour into the silicone mold and allow to set for 1-2 hours. Pop out the sugar scrub bars and store in an airtight container.

    CUSTOMIZE YOUR SUGAR SCRUB BARS WITH DIFFERENT VARIATIONS!

    Once you make these, you may want to try and mix up the recipe a bit. Have fun with it and make your own sugar scrub bars creation using natural products!

    • use brown sugar instead of white sugar to turn this into a brown sugar scrub recipe
    • Add 1-2 teaspoons of red jojoba beads, almond meal or spent coffee grounds for extra exfoliation and a fun look too!
    • use shea butter, vitamin e oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, cocoa butter or coconut oil or a mix of several of these carrier oils, instead of the sweet almond oil for different moisturizing options
    • add your favorite essential oils to the mix for completely different scents ie: sweet orange oil, lemon oil or lavender oil; make a different batch for each scent and make a whole collection of uniquely scented sugar scrub bars!

    DIY Honey Almond Sugar Scrub Bars

    Materials

    • 1 cup sugar

      This recipe sounds lovely!! If I wanted to add EOs, how many drops would I use?

        Hi Beth! I think it would depend on how strong you would like the scent, I would start with 10-15 drops, but you could go with even more if you would like it more strongly scented. Hope that helps!
