HOW TO MAKE EASTER M&M OREO BARK:

Servings: 12-24, depending on how big you cut the pieces

    Prep time: 10 minutes

Down time: chill for 1 hour

Storage: store in an airtight container

Equipment you will need for the Easter M&M Oreo Bark:

    Medium microwave safe bowl

    Spoon

    Parchment paper

    Large baking sheet

    Chef knife

INGREDIENTS FOR THE EASTER M&M OREO BARK:

    Ingredients:

ingredients for Easter Oreo M&M Bark recipe including a bowl of white chocolate chips, a bowl of pastel m&m's, and a bowl of oreo cookies

    • 12 Oreo cookies
    • 18 oz white chocolate chips (or white chocolate candy melts)
    • ⅔ cup Easter M&M candy

Directions for making the Easter Bark:

    Step 1:

    • Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet or baking pan.

    Step 2:

    • Twist the Oreo cookies apart so that you have two halves. I removed the cream from the middle and discarded it but I think it would work if you left it on as well.

    Step 3:

laying out the oreo cookie halves on a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet

    • Arrange the Oreo cookie halves on the parchment lined baking sheet.

    Step 4:

    • Add the white chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl, and heat in 30 second intervals, stirring between each heating session, until fully melted. You could also use a double boiler on the stove top to melt the white candy melts.

    Step 5:

a bowl of melted white chocolate next to the cookie sheet with oreo cookies on it

    • Immediately pour melted chocolate over Oreo cookies, slowly, starting in the middle, and moving to the sides in an even layer. Use the spoon to help spread it across all of the cookies.

    Step 6:

adding the pastel m&m candies on top of the melted white chocolate layer

    • Immediately top with pastel m&m candy. (Or add any other toppings you wish, see below for lots more ideas!)

    Step 7:

    • Transfer the entire pan to the refrigerator, and chill for one hour.

    Step 8:

    EASTER BARK VARIATIONS:

There are so many fun ways to make a great bark recipe, here are some variations to this Easter Bark treat that you can make:

    • Use different color melted chocolate such as blue, purple or pink by using different colorful candy melts.
    • Add additional or different toppings to the melted chocolate, like some festive sprinkles such as pastel sprinkles or Easter/spring sprinkles, jelly beans, Cadbury mini eggs, pastel mini-marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, sliced almonds or other nuts.
    • Mix things up and use Golden Oreos as the base with a milk chocolate or dark chocolate instead of the white chocolate! Or do a mix of white and dark chocolate or a pastel color and swirl it around with a toothpick for a marbled look!
    • Arrange your toppings into a bunny shape for a fun Easter Bunny Bark!
    • Use red and green candy melts and Christmas sprinkles or crushed candy canes for a Christmas variation!
    • Use red candy melts and Valentines Day sprinkles for that holiday!
    • Use fall or Halloween colored candy melts such as orange or purple, with Halloween sprinkles or Fall sprinkles to match or even eyeball candies for a fun Halloween bark!
    • If you have extra candy melts after this project, use them for dipping homemade rice crispy treats into or for chocolate dipped strawberries!
