Fermenting foods seems to be all the rage right now, and for good reason. Fermented foods increase and add good gut bacteria, or probiotics, into your system. Latest studies are saying that your immune system, is based in your guts.
So it is essential to keep that good bacteria level high, to ward off everything from the common cold or virus, to things like auto immune diseases, cancer and more. So eat all the fermented things! Your body will be happy you did!
Fermenting foods is also one of the easiest ways to preserve food from your garden! Especially vegetables that you either have to pickle with a water bath canner, or pressure can. If you are not quite up to pressure canning, and you have made all the pickles that you can stand to eat, ferment those veggies!
Crispy vegetables are great fermented, as they keep their crunch. Things like carrots, radish, cabbage, turnips, beans, peppers and more! Doing a large jar with a good mix of veggies is a great way to start and looks so pretty!
