Fall is in the air and that mean apples! Today our featured post is all about good ol' American Apple Pie!
Fall is Apple Season
Apples are just coming into season, and if you grow them on your homestead, you need lots of different ways to preserve them! A few great ways to preserve those apples are by making cider, juice, apple sauce, apple butter, apple pie filling, dehydrated apples.
Be sure to check out my article on Fall Flavored Cupcakes and Muffins (it includes a apple cinnamon poke cupcake with cream cheese frosting! YUM!)
If you are growing your own apple trees, and need tips on pruning them, also check out my post on Tips on How to Prune Your Apple Trees, it includes a handy dandy video!
Apple Preservation
Last week our featured posts also included fall flavored treats, and I shared two of my favorite tools for preserving apples. I will share them again here in case you missed it. If you grow apple trees and have a ton of apples to harvest, you really must have both of these items on your homestead.
One item is a steam juicer and the other is this smaller table top apple press. Both items are great for apples, but can also be used for grapes and berries as well!
