Welcome back to 5 Things Friday 3/16/18! I hope you all had a great week! Please comment with one of your favorite things that happened this week, or something that you are thankful for. 🙂 Every Friday I aim to post about 5 of my favorite things that week. I will try to post one thing for each of these categories: Homestead Garden, Homestead Critters, Homestead Kitchen, Homesteader Entertainment and Personal a thing from my Homesteader life. These may be handy gadgets, recipe’s, quotes or moments in time. I hope you will all share some of your Friday Favorites with me as well!

Homestead Gardening Favorite:

This week, my 5 Things Friday favorite gardening thing was again the weather! Sorry for the repeat, but it reached 70 degrees on Monday and has been gorgeous all week! OK, no, maybe it was this view while working in the garden!

My view of Mt Pilchuck while working in the garden this week.

I got all my brassica’s planted this week, about half transplants and half by seed. I planted my peas. We made a little more progress on the Back to Eden orchard project thanks to my girl M. She also cleaned a couple more chicken coops for me.   I am slowly checking things off my March Homestead To Do List . This weekends focus will be to get the rest of the tomato and peppers started! What are you working on in the garden this weekend?

Homestead Critters Favorite:

This week, my 5 Things Friday favorite critter thing is my puggle girl Figgy Pudding. This puppy dog has my heart, and everyone else’s that she loves on. She loves to crawl up on your chest and give you a big hug, wrapping her paws around your neck and licking your face endlessly. She is the absolute best! And my daughter ain’t too shabby either! 😉

Homestead Kitchen Favorite:

My 5 Things Favorite Kitchen item thing this week Costco pre-made meals. Being busy in the garden and having a lot of stuff going on this week, I am happy to NOT be in the kitchen so much thanks to Costco! Tonight we are having some folks over to help celebrate my hubby’s 50th Birthday, and as much as I would have loved to provide a home cooked meal, it’s not going to happen! So we will be having some yummy pre-made pasta dishes as the main dishes and I will whip up some easy stuff to go with.

Homesteader Entertainment Favorite:

My 5 Things Favorite entertainment thing this week ….hmmmmm…. I’m struggling with this one this week. I don’t really have one because I’ve been too busy!!! How about if I put my husband’s in since he is the birthday boy this week? He is getting ready to go see the Tomb Raider movie this afternoon, and he is like a little kid! He loves these movies! I haven’t seen them so I cannot say. But he says you should see them all!

Personal Homesteader Life Favorite:

My 5 Things Favorite personal favorite was last night. Yesterday was my hubby’s actual birthday, AND we picked up my middle daughter from college for her spring break. Than we went out and had a wonderful sushi dinner to celebrate! It was so awesome to have everyone together again to celebrate the big 5-0 for my hubby!

Happy Friday to you and yours! Please comment below and let me know at least one thing you are thankful for on this Friday! And share what you have on the agenda this weekend! Hope it is a good one!

Hi! In your Complete List for Seed Starting blog, you have a photo of everything you use. I was wondering where you get the plastic seed packet holders? I always just put my left over seeds in a plastic ziplock. Would love to use something like that.

      Hi Shannon,
I am not sure where you saw it, perhaps Instagram? I don’t think I have yet to post it on the blog, but I store my seeds in plastic photo storage boxes. Please let me know if your are talking about something else….Thanks for visiting!
